1990's Glassmasters Majestic Dawn Stained Glass Window The Duncan Hegardt Memorial. This Tiffany Landscape is a reproduction of an original window in the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Duluth, Minnesota. 1 of 5 paired Tiffany windows in the sanctuary, it was commissioned as a memorial to Charles Duncan and William G. Hegardt following the church's 50th anniversary in 1921.As with all Glassmasters designs, all custom enamel paints used were put down one color at a time, and then each layer was dried at 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Once as many as 21 layers of color were applied, the panel was then kiln-fired at 1100 degrees Fahrenheit, at which temperature the glass became porous and almost melted, allowing the paints to penetrate the surface of the glass, permanently fusing with it. This process achieved vibrant colors that can withstand decades, if not centuries in direct sunlight. A testament to craftsmanship, each panel they made was worked on by at least a dozen pairs of hands. Unfortunately, Glassmasters craft shop in Richmond, VA ceased operations in 2005. Window appears to be in perfect condition. I do not have the original box or hanging hardware or display stand, but I will include similar hooks and chains that usually comes with these pieces. Actual size with frame is 12 3/8 inches wide by 13 1/4 inches high. The frame appears gold in the photos but it is pewter / silver in color.
